Comscore has released its November 2012 U.S. Mobile Subscriber Market Share Report showing that Samsung, Apple, Android, and iOS continue to dominate the market. Their study surveyed over 30,000 U.S. mobile smartphone subscribers over a three month period and found Samsung to be the top smartphone manufacturer with a 26.9 percent market. Android was the most used operating system with a 53.7 market share. Apple came in second in both areas with 18.5 percent smartphone share and 35 percent platform share.

It seems that 7-inch tablet are all the rage these days and we have another maker joining the fray. E Fun has just announced the Nextbook 7GP tablet. It features a 7-inch display, Android Jelly Bean 4.1, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and most importantly, a price of $130.

It looks like the rumors of Samsung launching Tizen-based smartphones in 2013 are true, after all. Samsung has confirmed that it will indeed be bringing smartphones based on the open-source, Linux-based operating system it has co-developed with Intel to the market this year. Samsung's confirmation of the rumors sounds like it is giving Google a clear and direct warning message on the possible future of Samsung and Android, or lack thereof.

Apple's latest desktop operating system Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion took a 32 percent share of Internet traffic coming from all Apple computers in December. It is the first time the OS pulled ahead of it previous versions of OS X in the rankings, signaling that Apple is gaining more Mac users. It took OS X Mountain Lion five months to accomplish the same results that it took its predecessor Mac OS X 10.7 Lion to achieve in 10 months.
