Macbook Pro & iMac Could Possibly Use ARM-Based Chip On Its Future Variants
Keisuke AkioA recent report claims that MacBook Pro and iMac will use the ARM-based chip. In addition, it will be offered as part of the devices' other variants in the future.
The Cupertino-based tech giant could potentially use the ARM-based chip to run its future desktop and laptops. It is clear, that the MacBook Pro 2017 will not be using an ARM-based chip on its release this year. However, the company does not disregard the possibility of having variants of its devices equipped with the said technology in the future.
In one of a rare incident, Apple executive Phil Schiller revealed to several reporters several significant information and answered numerous questions concerning the company and its products. He gave light to the speculations about MacBook Pro releasing with ARM processor.
Aside from that, the Apple executive was apologetic for the delayed upgrade in Macbook Pro. He, however, assured consumers that upgrades and new products would be released soon. In addition, Schiller sacked the idea that their upcoming laptop will have a touchscreen or even their iMac.
In other news, Imagination Technologies, a British GPU designer announced that Apple informed them of lesser dependence in the next two years for their GPU. The Cupertino-based tech giant according to them is planning to manage their GPU on their own to control their products. Several speculations were heavy that the company would be making their own GPU design.
With this news, it is possible that Apple is indeed giving the ARM-based ship a run for the Macbook Pro and iMac. The move with Information Technologies might be an indication that the company is finding better ways to optimize the performance of its products with better software and hardware.
With the ARM chips, a thinner device with a powerful internal is most likely to come out. Most mobile VR makers are utilizing ARM's latest GPU. Although Apple is still very tight-lipped about this information, a possible use of ARM chip in the future is very likely.
