The much-awaited space survival game "Hellion" is now available on Steam Early Access. Here is what we know so far about the latest game, as well as the progress of its development.

Steam Early Access

On February 24, Zero Gravity announced that its first-person space survival game "Hellion" is now available in Steam Early Access for $24.99. Similar to all other EA games, "Hellion" is running with a limited set of features, including building a base, collecting resources from asteroids and PvP among others. Zero Gravity  posted a short note on the game's official site informing players that the server size is currently limited to 30 players. This is for the dev to monitor the game's stability, which will later on, increase the capacity to 100.

Game Story

"Hellion" tells the story of human explorers arriving in the "Hellion" solar system after a cryogenic sleep. The destination, however, ends up being in total chaos with empty space stations and abandoned crafts. Foraging may be the only way to survive and as a player, you will have the options to choose whether you work with or against the other offcuts of humanity.

Gameplay

"Hellion" is an adventure that can be undertaken solo or in a multiplayer format. With extra players, you can join a team to pilot multi-crew ships with realistic navigation. You can also participate in PvP close quarters combat. In "Hellion," players can pick up abandoned station modules to be able to obtain parts and resources to build their base and upgrade their own equipment.

"Hellion" colonists can also choose to EVA mine raw resources and refine them into fuel, air and crafting components. Survivors have to compromise the safety of the ship for an exciting EVA experience as they explore the remnants of humankind's first intergalactic colony in search of intel, resources, and equipment

Game Features

Other interesting "Hellion" features are currently in the development process. This includes Hacking and security, Realistic wound mechanics, and Suite damage and degradation. Moreover, features like Voice chat, Radio mechanics, FTL communications, and Gas giant harvesting are also in the development stage and will soon be integrated to the game, reported Dual Shockers.
