RommelReid (played by Matthew Gray Gubler) has been arrested this episode and this “Criminal Minds” Season 12 Episode 14 recap will break to you all the details on the ground of murder. However, it appears that hope is not lost for him as help appears to be lurking in the most unexpected places, or persons for that matter.
“Criminal Minds” Season 12 Episode 14 Recap: Emily Prentiss gives aid to Reid by referring him to her old friend and prominent defense lawyer, Fiona Duncan (played by Jeananne Goossen). Reid’s rogue Mexico trip has made him ineligible to be provided legal assistance by the FBI thus making Prentiss’ help immensely important under the circumstances.
“Emily, I really appreciate it, but helping me could destroy your reputation in the bureau,” Reid said. To which Prentiss offers the following response: “My battle, my choice. Please let me help you.”
Reid eventually allows Prentiss to help him in his current predicament. This has been confirmed by showrunner, Erica Messer, who in a recent interview with TV guide, said that Gossen will be appearing for a number of episodes in order to help Reid get out of prison.
Reid’s incarceration has been one of the most interesting twists in the turn of events in the series’ story. Fans and viewers are tuning on “Criminal Minds” in order to know how things will turn out for Reid in the series. They have been showing sympathy for him ever since he got arrested.
"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 14 recap might leave some question on fans’ minds, however, is whether or not Reid will plead guilty or not guilty and what would be the implication of his pleading. “How could he plead guilty to something he has no clear memory of? His moral code says he never would’ve done that. And his FBI agent side is like, don’t admit to something you didn’t do. And yet if he does that, he’ll get a lighter sentence and all that stuff. Do you make that deal with the devil? Or do you take your chances on being proven innocent?” said Messer.
