'NCIS: New Orleans' Season 3 Episode 15 Recap: Wade and Gordon Reconcile in 'End of the Line'

In "End of the Line," the team must look into a reopened case about a copycat murder. "End of the Line" is the fifteenth episode of "NCIS: New Orleans."

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, in "End of the Line," the "NCIS: New Orleans" team must deal with the shocking murder of Chief Karen Decker. As the Chief Medical Examiner, Loretta Wade has worked on different cases and this recent incident "resonated" with her.

Wade has previously worked on a similar case in the past, and the victim was also "repeatedly stabbed and the eyes had been gouged out." However, she doubts if this similarity means anything. Still, the recent case has shaken Wade to her core, and the team is worried about her.

When asked about what's bothering her, Wade admits that this reminded her of the previous case with a similarly murdered victim. The medical examiner also said that she might know who the killer was, and she warns Pride that she might be targeted next.

The team finds out more about Jack Gordon, who has been incarcerated twenty years ago after murdering a woman the same way Karen was murdered. However, he has recently been paroled. Pride and the team investigate Chief Decker's murder, and the evidence they find points to Gordon.

Pride thinks Wade is right, and the team also discover that Gordon first murdered his high school sweetheart Petty Officer Janet Ortega when he was allegedly high on drugs. Gordon insists that he does not remember killing Janet, but the woman's blood showed up on his knife.

Karen testified that Gordon was unstable, yet strangely enough, he now walks free. Wade then admits to Pride that twenty years ago, when she testified against Gordon she was not really sure of his guilt. She also now starts to doubt the evidence she found that pointed to Gordon as the killer.

While it was revealed that Gordon was off his meds, he insists that he did not murder Janet. Because of this, Wade decides to re-examine evidence from his case. The hair on the victim's body belonged to Gordon, but Wade wanted to know if it fell out or if it was planted in the scene of the crime.

Sebastian's findings "confirmed Wade's worst fears:" Gordon is innocent. Someone else placed his hair near the victim to frame him. Gordon also tells the team that Janet could have been involved with someone else after he saw her wearing an unfamiliar necklace.

It is then revealed that the District Attorney was Janet's other lover, and he murdered her then framed Gordon. Decker was then murdered when she started doubting Gordon's guilt. The District Attorney tried to make Wade delete the evidence, but Pride and Lasalle arrive in time to save her.

In "End of the Line," Loretta was shown handling her grave mistake with "grace and humility," per TV Fanatic. In the episode, she even tells CL, "I'm not going to let the past weigh me down any longer. I'm moving on."
