Respawn Entertainment has released a detailed patch notes for the update that is coming to Titanfall 2 showing game improvements, weapon balancing, Titan balancing and more.
New Content
One major addition is the Live Fire mode. It is a new 6v6 round-based with no respawns pilot versus pilot elimination mode. Players will only have one minute to eliminate their opponents for them to win the round.
The team holding the neutral flag when the round timer ends also wins, even if they did not obliterate all their opponents. The first team who wins 5 rounds wins the match. New Live Fire maps are also added such as Meadow and Stacks.
Meadow is a lush location with grassy lanes and rocky formations providing "site lines for long engagements and sneaky routes for flanking."Zip lines are also here! Stacks is an open area of industrial location sandwiching a dense center point framed by towering structures."
Players can attack from high ground and rush from the outer lanes.Titanfall 2's Faction Leaders can now play animations at the start of dropship animation.
New Features
Mixtape Matchmaking is a complete revamp of the multiplayer matchmaking, allowing players to create their own "mixtape" of modes. New sounds called "Late Hit" for the Stim Pilot Execution is added as well as the new ambient environmental sound effects will bring to life the livefire maps, as per WWG.
The sound effect in the Meadow is a blending of virtual reality and natural forest atmospheres. Stacks is a blending of virtual and industrial tones.
Titan Balance
On the Titan balancing side, the damage of Tone's Salvo Core is now reduced but the cooldown of Sonar Pulse is increased. The projectile size of the 40mm is now reduced and its rockets do suffer damage falloff anymore. The dash regeneration rate of Ronin and Northstar are now increased and Northstar's damage falloff from Flight Core rockets is now removed.
Aiming down the sights of Scorch's weapon will now show the projectile's direction and where it will land. The bug on Ion's Vortex Shield is now fixed, where it used to reflect bullets would give a high amount of splash damage.
The update also brings platform-specific fixes for PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One and PC. Full patch notes can be accessed via Gamespot.
Respawn does not have an exact date for the release of the patch for "Titanfall 2". While it is intended to be out this month, the developer would want the update to pass first the certification process before they provide a release date.
