LG Android Wear 2.0 Doesn't Have 'Made By Google' Markings; Specs, Release Date Outside US & Pricing
Regin OlimberioAndroid Wear 2.0 smartwatches have arrived, cementing the collaboration between LG and Google, but expectants are disappointed that it lacks the "made by Google" tag. Fans who are looking for either Pixel or Nexus markings in the watches are going to be heartbroken because Android Wear 2.0 is LG watch down to its core.
Google has just confirmed that it has no plans yet to launch its inherent line of wearable but it is ready to deploy its OS into manufacturers like LG. Android Wear 2.0 has already invaded the mainstream and every smartwatch equipped with new features like crowns, dedicated app button and NFC sensors are now a commonplace.
True to what Mobile&Apps reported a month ago, Android Wear 2.0 has indeed launched two variants. Style model sports a 360 x 360 1.2-inch P-OLED display at 299 ppi. Its big brother, the Sports model features a bigger 1.38-inch P-OLED at 480 x 480 resolution and 348 ppi.
While both packs 1.1GHz 2100 Snapdragon chipset and 4GB capacity, the Sports variant is reeling so extra features. It has LTE connectivity and can take Android Play as standalone device without the need for smartphone. Sports model also has GPS functionality and heart rate sensor, Greenbot reported.
It is also noteworthy that Sports has almost double the battery capacity of Style counterpart (430mAh vs. 240mAh). Since extra features will require additional resources, Sports has higher RAM at 768, as opposed to Style's 512RAM. There is also a difference in both units' tolerability against dusts and water, as Sports features IP68 rating in contrast to Style with IP67.
Android Wear 2.0 is already inching since Feb. 10 launch in other areas apart from the US. Google is targeting markets including Canada, Korea, UK, Saudi Arabia and others. The priciest among the variants is the LTE-powered Sports model which sells for $350 at Google Store, Verizon and AT&T shops. The cheaper alternative is to go with Style for $250 although it has a special rose gold color that comes with extra $30 at Best Buy stores.
