'Mass Effect Andromeda' Latest News: Developer Removes Huge Feature Right Before Game's Release, Players To Analyse Each Decision!
Catherine G.This just became official: the developer of "Mass Effect Andromeda", BioWare has dropped a very important feature in the upcoming game. This announcement has come only weeks ahead of the scheduled March release of the highly anticipated game.
"Mass Effect Andromeda" is possibly the beginning of a new game series, different from the original and much successful trilogy. However, now an important attribute of the upcoming game has been scrapped. The Paragon and Renegade conversation options will not be a part of "Mass Effect Andromeda" anymore. "So, Paragon and Renegade is gone," creative director Mac Walters told Official Xbox Magazine through GamesRadar. "The reason they're gone is because they felt very Shepard - they were very tied to the Shepard character, so they didn't really make sense if we weren't going to have Shepard as our protagonist."
The developer seeks to set the upcoming new series apart from the original "Mass Effect" trilogy. The new game will focus on either agreeing or disagreeing with certain statements. Now, players will need to think hard about the effects and ramifications of the things they say or respond to.
"What we have now is based more around agreeing and disagreeing," he continued. "The reason I like that is because in the trilogy it's like, 'I'm gonna play Paragon,' and then you know which way you're moving the stick on every conversation. You don't have to think about it because you're just going to hit Paragon every time."
Another addition to the game is that the new and developed system will permit the use of different tones of voice. These choices will let the players express their thoughts in many different manners- even if the comments are still the same! "With agree and disagree it changes by the circumstance and it changes the character you're talking to, so you have to actually be more engaged in what's going on, to know if you're going to do that." And I think that gets back to that more traditional role-playing sort of feeling which is less about 'Do I want to be good or bad,' and more about 'How do I want to express myself?"
"Mass Effect Andromeda" is set to release on March 21 for platforms of PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is not coming to Nintendo Switch- at least not yet. Keep browsing MobileNApps for more news and updates about "Mass Effect Andromeda".
