"Injustice 2" developer NetherRealm is set to reveal another character for the DC-themed fighting game. Recently, the developer said that upcoming this week, fans would expect another character added to the roster. However, NetherRealm was not able to deliver its promise.

GameSpot reports that NetherRealm was originally planning to reveal a new character on February 7. But now, the game developers have posted a Tweet, expressing its misinformation. The post says that this reveal will happen Monday next week, February 13.

The latest character reveal for the game was Black Canary. In the 13-minute video featured by IGN, Black Canary is everything gamers would have imagine. The acrobatic dropkicks, fists of fury and the DC hero's iconic Sonic Cry.

Other than the Black Canary, fan-favorite characters are present in the game as well. Heroes like Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Robin and more. NetherRealm's Ed Boon revealed that the game will feature obscure characters in the near future.

"Injustice 2" takes place after the events of "Injustice: Gods Amongst Us" with Superman bound in chains by Batman. Batman and a team of superheroes are struggling to bring back the peace to the world with villains like Harley Quinn are still wreaking havoc.

However, a new villain will arise from the ashes and threatens the very existence of Earth and its occupants. Brainiac, who is one of Superman's villains, comes to Earth to finish the job in wiping every Kryptonian lifeforms like Superman and Supergirl.

With Brainiac's coming, he urges that the line be redrawn between allies and enemies on Earth. Possibly, as a show of the villain's superiority and even with everyone working to stop him, Brainiac believes he can win.

"Injustice 2" is now available on a Closed Beta Test for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The official game will be out on May 16 on the said consoles. The game comes with three DLCs with three different editions, skins and unlockable items.
