You heard it correctly, folks! James Cameron may be returning to the "The Terminator" franchise with the director title to be held by Tim Miller. Miller directed 2016's breakout superhero movie, "Deadpool". Now the question remains, are they teaming up for "Terminator 6" or something else altogether?
"The Terminator" franchise had a great start with the first two movies going on to become the most celebrated sci-fi / action movies of their times. However, in recent times the franchise has lost its established name. With the disappointing "Terminator: Salvation" and the disastrous "TermInator: GenIsys", it seemed like the franchise would gradually fade with a bad aftertaste. "TermInator: GenIsys" was the beginning of a new trilogy but its horrenduous performance at the box office threw those beliefs right out of the window.
However, it seems like the die-hard and loyal fans of "The Terminator" franchise might finally have something to rejoice about. James Cameron, who directed the first two movies, is in "talks" with "Deadpool" director Tim Miller "to direct a reboot and conclusion" to the franchise, with Cameron acting as a "godfather". This breaking news has been reported by DeadlIne who have not clarified if this upcoming "Terminator 6" will be a reboot or a sequel or a final movie to signal the end of franchise.
David Ellison of "Skydance" is reportedly producing the ambitious project and will help Cameron and Miller. No other concrete information is available about this movie currently but we are rooting for a grand comeback with the help of the "godfatherly" presence of James Cameron. Will the franchise get a positive reboot/ resurrection with Cameron taking the helm again? Will this move contain the disappearance of this highly popular franchise?
