AMD’s Mighty Radeon Pro Duo-The Fiji Behemoth & AMD Radeon R9 Fury X On Sale; Prices Discounted Up To 46%
Keisuke AkioRadeon Pro Duo, AMD's flagship graphics card, has received a major price cut from its AIB partners. The once $1500 US graphics card is now selling at $799.99 US on several retail outlets. In addition, AMD Radeon R9 Fury X is also selling at approximately $299.
The latest price cut is not region specific and the AMD Radeon Pro Duo card is on discount in both Asia-Pacific and North American regions. The discounts range between 31 percent and 46 percent, which is a massive drop from its original price. The AMD Radeon Pro Duo was launched in April 2016. It was AMD's flagship product in the Radeon lineup and is a workstation and gaming product. Moreover, AMD Radeon Pro Duo is dubbed as the world's fastest graphics card.
Specifications
The AMD Radeon Pro Duo boasts two full-fledged Fiji GPUs. It packages 128 compute units in two GPUs, each of which comprises 4096 shaders. The AMD Radeon Pro Duo total core count is 8192, the highest GPU to date. Each core has 64 raster operation units and 256 texture-mapping units. The AMD Radeon Pro Duo's GPU core operates at 1000 MHz.
At the valued clock speeds, AMD Radeon Pro Duo delivers texture fill rates of 512 GT/s and pixel fill rates of 128 GP/s. The card was designed to enhance 4K gaming and professional content. In addition, it features AMD's Liquid VR and FireRender technologies for optimum app-level support. Furthermore, AMD Radeon Pro Duo delivers 16 TFLOPs of 32-bit single precision compute, currently the highest any graphics card can offer.
Aside from the AMD Radeon Pro Duo, the Radeon R9 Fury X graphics card has also received an AIB specific price cut. Radeon R9 Fury X model is selling for $308 US, which comparatively similar to what some custom RX 480's selling price. The Radeon R9 Fury X is originally priced at $650 US on its launch.
According to Wccftech, these massive discounts are the result of most AIBs clearing their shelves of older cards. In addition, AIBs are also anticipating the forthcoming Vega based AMD flagship products.
