HTC U Ultra vs Apple iPhone 7 Plus: Specs & Features Comparison; Apple Now Has A Tough Contender
Ritwik RoyHTC has unveiled another wonder of a device and it's the premium HTC U Ultra. The smartphone packs some real powerful specs and features that can even make the Apple iPhone 7 Plus tensed. The HTC U Ultra has been announced though actual sales are expected to begin from March. It has a 5.7-inch super LCD5 capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
According to GSMArena, the HTC U Ultra's 64GB variant is expected to have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection whereas the 128GB variant may come with Sapphire crystal glass. A secondary display is available with screen resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen with screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It has an Ion-strengthened glass with oleophobic coating, display zoom and 3D Touch display & home button.
The HTC U Ultra is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and Adreno 530 GPU. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus is powered by an A10 Fusion processor and PowerVR Series7XT Plus (six-core graphics). It comes with iOS 10.0.1 though upgradable to iOS 10.2. The U Ultra handset has internal storage capacity of 64GB/128GB and a powerful 4GB RAM. microSD slot is available. This is not the case with iPhone 7 Plus though it has a 3GB RAM and 32/128/256GB internal storage options.
The HTC U Ultra has enviable specs in terms of camera with a 12MP primary camera with f/1.8, 26mm, OIS, laser & phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. Other features include 1/2.3'' sensor size, 1.55µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, Auto-HDR and panorama. The secondary camera is of 16MP with 1080p and Auto-HDR. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus has Dual 12MP primary cameras (28mm, f/1.8, OIS & 56mm, f/2.8) with phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom and quad-LED (dual tone) flash. Secondary camera is of 7MP.
The HTC U Ultra has a non-removable Li-Ion 3,000 mAh battery whereas the Apple iPhone 7 Plus has a non-removable Li-Ion 2900 mAh battery. Fans can pre-order the 64GB U Ultra handset for $749. The 32GB iPhone 7 Plus costs $769.
