Apple WatchOS 3.1.3 Beta 2, Apple iOS 10.2.1 Beta 3 Now Available For Developer Testing
Rei LantionApple commemorated the tenth anniversary of the iPhone line by releasing the third beta for the iOS 10.2.1-following the previous iOS 10.2.1 beta 2 release about a month ago-and the Apple watchOS 3.1.3 beta 2 for developer testing. No major changes are expected to be brought about from either beta, other than minor performance improvement and small bug fixes.
Apple WatchOS 3.1.3 Beta 2. The first beta version of the watchOS 3.1.3 was seeded to developers for testing last December 21, 2016-more than a week after 3.1.1 was released and around three months after the official launch of watchOS 3. According to Phone Arena, download is simple for registered developers. Simply select 'Software Update' via 'General' settings and download should start immediately.
Before installation, make sure the Apple Watch has at least 50% power left and is in its charger dock. Its paired iPhone must be within range and must be running iOS 10 or higher. As mentioned with the initial beta launched three weeks prior, no major changes are expected with the watchOS 3.1.3 beta 2.
Apple iOS 10.2.1 Beta 3. The initial beta for Apple iOS 10.2.1.was released December 12 last year, and the update included Unicode 9.0 emoji characters, a new TV app, extra camera features, new wallpapers for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus, and a lot more.
No word yet on what the third beta will include for this iOS, but Neurogadget reports that it will apparently provide "stability, compatibility, and security" to iPhones and iPads. With this, it's fair to assume this patch is more a fix-it patch for minor performance issues.
The Apple watchOS 3.1.3 beta arrived shortly after Apple pulled the watchOS 3.1.1 from release. This was due to some Apple Watch series 2 devices bricking after updating to the 3.1.1 patch. Apple has not re-released a fix or updated version for this, and word is Apple stores have been unable to fix the bricking issue. For now, Apple Watch series 2 owners are advised to stick with watchOS 3.1.
