In the movie, the Straw Hat pirates will once again engage in a new adventure, where Captain Luffy and his group are to pursue the gold within Gran Tesoro city. The place is chock-full of entertainment that can be described as illegal, where pirates, Marines and billionaires alike gather. Little does the group know that amidst all the enjoyment, a powerful ruler will get in the way and give them a difficult time.

"One Piece Film: Gold" aired in Japan in July 23, but it was not until September 8 that the it garnered over $48.8 million at the Japanese box office. The English-dubbed version will hit select theaters on January 10  to 17.
