LeEco's Smart Bikes Run With Android OS; Will Be Showcased at CES 2017
Cores Grace MalaayLeEco's latest Smart Road and Smart Mountain bikes are infused with dazzling tech stemmed from self-driving cars and smartphones. These bikes have fitness, navigation and communication features and most notable for its tech that can track in case your bike is stolen.
The latest Smart Road and Smart Mountain bikes new features can also be an outline of how bikes in the future can look like. According to PC World, the bikes are made of a carbon-fiber frame with high-end gears to pedal and brake and are built for different terrain.
CNet reports that these bikes have 4-inch touchscreens like dashboards, which offers navigation and capabilities of playing music, and allows walkie-talkie kind of communication with other LeEco bikes within the range including a 6,000 milliamp hour rechargeable batteries. It is also worth to take note that these Smart Road and Smart Mountain bikes have a built-in security system preventing lost souls in stealing your fancy bike.
The bikes have an alarm system, which activates during theft where owners would be able to track their bikes through a mobile app. It is also compatible with fitness devices and data being collected from the heart monitors as well as fitness bands can be fed into the smart bike systems.
The smart bikes run a version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, which is tailored particularly for bicycles - the BikeOS. The display is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor used in some of the new smartphones.
The bikes have GPS and GLONASS sensors for navigation purposes, a barometer, accelerometer as well as sensors to check the light levels and can also monitor distance traveled and wheel speed. Moreover, LeEco's latest Smart Road and Smart Mountain bikes will be showcased at CES 2017 trade show in Las Vegas this week and will arrive in the United States in the Q2 this year. Prices will be disclosed at a later date.
