New AR Rifles are being introduced this year for the marksmen and avid collectors alike. Surprisingly, the ones responsible for these models have been known to make a different kind altogether.

It has been reported that four new models are coming this 2017 for the AR rifle line; two coming from the AR-15 and another two from the AR-10 line. This year, Savage Arms enters the AR market with authority, making its mark with its first entry in the sporting rifle industry.

According to Shooting Illustrated, the Savage MSR 15 Recon is one of the two AR-15 rifles introduced, donning a Blackhawk AR Blaze trigger to start with. It has a free-float M-LOK handguard, a Savage barrel with a 1:8 twist, .223 Wylde target chamber and a Melonite QPQ finish. It has a Blackhawk KNOXX AR Pistol Grip, as well, and is equipped with a sturdy Blackhawk AXIOM Carbine Stock. The MSR 15 Recon costs $999 and weighs seven pounds.

Another is the MSR 1 Patrol, which somewhat resembles the existing M4 rifle models of the generation. It has some of the features of the AR-15 model, with a Blackhawk covering, as well. A flip-up rear sight proves effective with an A-frame gas block front sight, along with the mil-spec trigger and a flattop rail that permits versatile optic mounting. It weighs 6.5 pounds and carries a suggested retail price of $852.

The MSR 10 Long Range belongs to the AR-10 line and is compatible with both the .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor. It has a compact frame, donning a Blackhawk AR Blaze two-stage trigger with a Magpul PRS buttstock. It has a fluted heavy barrel by Savage, with a 5R rifling and a similar Melonite QPQ finish, as well as an M-LOK rail. It is priced at $2,284 and weighs 9.75 pounds.

The fourth release of the Savage Arms line is the AR-10 platform design, the MSR 10 Hunter. It dons majority of the upgrades from the Long Range, namely the M-LOK handguard, Blackhawk furniture and the Blackhawk AR Blaze trigger. The suggested retail price of the MSR 10 Hunter lands at $1,481, which weighs 8 pounds.

As per the official Savage Arms site, the absence of the AR-type rifles is one potential instigation of the company's creation of the said types. It introduced semi-automatic rifles before like the A17 and A22. This new line of rifles could be the next big thing for gun enthusiasts everywhere.
