CNN Explains Russians Computer Hacking Techniques Using ‘Fallout 4’ Game Screenshot
JaiComputer hacking is not a usual term that anyone can understand easily. If they are not already familiar with it, it will certainly be hard to make them understand what this malicious act is all about. So, when news channels try to explain computer hacking on TV to the audience, they usually stick with images of a bunch of numbers, keyboards, or other electronic aspects. But, this only leaves the audience more confused at times. But, CNN went a step further and chose a screenshot to explain Russians computer hacking techniques from the famous game "Fallout 4."
This happened recently when President Obama sanctioning a proposal against Russia for the cyber-attacks the country was committing which are targeting the USA. CNN took advantage of that moment and captured a screenshot of the mini-game related to Russian computer hacking techniques as seen in "Fallout 4." Reddit was the first to spot this steal when it recognised the neon green letters in the image. Anyone who has played the game will instantly know that the image is directly taken from the game's hacking action.
The hacking mini-game is available not only in "Fallout 4," but also in other Fallout series of games where the player is able to hack to access data or unlock closed passages. The minigame uses a word puzzle where the gamer is to search for a particular word hidden in the cluster of random characters. It looks pretty cool and is a simple mechanism in the game. But, this has nothing to do with the Russian computer hacking techniques in reality. But, the naïve audience who are unfamiliar with the game is easily fooled by what the media showed them.
A Redditor had this to say about the recent actions, "If you want to talk about hacking on a major news network, your choices are either that or a scene from The Matrix."
