"xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" certainly has a few uncanny stars -- majority of which did not exist in both the first and second installment. Nonetheless, such star-studded cast is said to have its own offerings to the third entry of the high-octane franchise.

With an already extravagant lineup of films under 2017, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" is just one more powerhouse under the belt of actor Vin Diesel -- and the movie apparently fares better with the new supporting cast. Such includes martial arts and movie icon Donnie Yen.

According to Yahoo, adrenaline junkie Xander Cage is once again dragged into a perilous mission with some of the world's most dangerous criminals. In this case, the band involves Yen and a few other outlaws. Recent trailers have shown how the group of unruly bandits give the government a hard time with their impeccable martial arts prowess and unlawful escapades. Now, Yen shows his extremist side, as well. A YouTube clip highlights Yen in a chasing scene with xXx, going through the forest with convertible motorcycles that can trek through water.

As some fans may doubt of the difference between "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" and the forthcoming "Fate of the Furious," fans can easily distinguish how the third title sets itself apart from the racing franchise with more radical scenes. As an indication, there will also be more than enough shooting and x-sport promises to deliver in the third film -- with the likes of Ruby Rose, Deepika Padukone, Toni Collette and Nina Dobrev in the mix.

Yen is not the only martial arts expert to step, as Thai star Tony Jaa is also confirmed. "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" is set to hit theaters January 19, 2017.
