DC Universe 2016’s 5 Highly Awkward Moments

Jai

DC Universe 2016 witnessed a number of bizarre and awkward scenarios that affected the fans and critics alike. At one hand, DC Comics are being praised over Marvel ones for the awesome plots, the same cannot be said about the DC Entertainment films. Critics are booing the ideas and concepts behind the bizarre subplots and scenes seen in the films and TV series. So, this post will feature 5 highly awkward moments that have occurred in the DC Universe this year.

The New 52 Timeline Was Created By Dr Manhattan

Merging the "Watchmen" comics with the DC universe is not such a brilliant move, or is it? Geoff John brought up the two different dimensions in one which is going to leave many fans startled. It is also to be seen if Batman finding Comedian's smiley-faced pin in his Batcave will be a good idea or not. Above all, Dr Manhattan creating the New 52 sounds utterly outrageous to many critics.

John Diggle Doesn't Mind His Daughter Not Existing Anymore

This plot happens when Barry Allen aka the Flash creates Flashpoint which affects the DC Universe as seen in the TV series. Barry's action lead to Jon Diggle's daughter Sara changing into a son. Diggle feels surprised about this alteration in his life but doesn't care much about it as the story progresses. This feels awkward thinking of the idea how he had felt the grudge against Deadshot for shooting his brother. He went insane over that fact, but couldn't care less when his daughter was removed from the timeline. Now, that is bizarre!

Batman Stops From Killing Superman After Hearing The Word "Martha"
"Batman V Superman" movie by Zack Snyder was not able to perform much when it comes to a plot. It was able to earn a decent amount at the box office, but critical approach towards the movie's unreliable plot was mostly negative. The movie had a number of bizarre and cheesy moments like Lex Luthor pissing into a jar, but the most awkward moment was when Batman didn't kill Superman after hearing his mother's name from Superman's mouth.

Both heroes share the same name for their mothers which triggered this scene to bring out such a plot. Batman of all beings works on logic more than emotions. But, it looks like the director wanted us to feel the connection between the two through motherly love.

The Power Rangers Beating Batman:

DC Universe 2016 showed a number of crossovers, but this one featuring Power Rangers was quite weird. People did not find it awkward to bring the two teams together in a Justice League story. What they found weird was the fact that how these California-based teenagers beat Batman. Nobody wants to see Batman being beaten, period.

Batgirl Having Sex With Batman

This R-rated animated depiction of "The Killing Joke" graphic novel shows Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) in a presumably sexual way. Her story unfolds in this animated film with a number of sexual depictions and even showing her being influenced by a villain in who keeps flirting with her. Critics had a lot to rant about on this 2016 DC animation film revolving around sexual politics and a weird plot - partly drifting from the original "Killing Joke" graphic novel.
