Apple has once again reclaimed its throne as one of the most patronized technology brands for 2016. Specifically pointing out the holiday season, Apple managed to get its products at the very top of the wish list for many of today's tech worms.

As Christmas and Hanukkah begets the attention of many gift givers and buyers, Apple may have been rewarded with outstanding numbers before the year ends. Data was provided by Flurry Analytics, reportedly Steve Jobs' most admired analytics company, after conducting a study on market behavior.

In a Tumblr post, Flurry Analytics laid out its assessments on the companies that had the top device activations, both in terms of apps and phones. The somewhat unsurprising top-notcher is none other than Apple, with 44 percent new device activations for the year. It is then followed by the rather controversial Samsung with 21 percent, preceded allegedly by the anomalies with itsGalaxy Note 7 units.

Other contenders include the rather competitive Huawei at 3 percent, which starts to emerge from beyond the more unrecognized classes. Lastly, LG, Amazon, Oppo, Xiaomi and Motorola all follow with 2 percent each. Sadly, Google did not make the cut, as it has only two flagship devices to date, namely the Pixel and Pixel XL.

Apple's 2016 results are also notable. "Ordinarily Apple's fiscal quarters are exactly 13 weeks in length and always end on a Saturday. Because 365 days are not wholly divisible by 7, there's a reminder day each year (2 days in a leap year)," said Robert Paul Leitao of the Braeburn Group on the Ped30.

In order for Apple to properly align the fiscal quarters of the company with the calendar, they added a 14th week to the fiscal quarter respectively. It is mostly dependent on the number of leap days in the multiple year range. In this case, the aforementioned previous year was the last time the said scenario occurred.

Apple's sales are said to skyrocket even higher from where it stands now. An estimate of another 3 million iPhones from here on out are expected to be sold.
