HMD, the home of Nokia phones, has just confirmed what has been swirling in the rumor mills for quite some time, Nokia will be releasing a new handset this coming 2017. Not only did the company announce the return of Nokia phones, from the way things are going it looks like Nokia's new phone will put the once top phone maker on the map again.
With the rumored release of Apple iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 next year, the new offering from Nokia is sure to make the top smartphone race a bit more interesting this coming 2017
The new Nokia handset will reportedly be powered by a SnapDragon 835 chipset and will be supported by 6gb of RAM. This power will place the new Nokia smartphone at par with the top smartphones on the market today.
Also, the long-standing partnership between Carl Zeiss and Nokia is also said to make a comeback with the new Nokia handset. The new Nokia, dubbed as Nokia P, will reportedly have a 23-megapixel rear camera with lenses from Carl Zeiss.
The new offering from Nokia will also sport a full metal chassis and is said to be dust and water resistant.
Another exciting announcement from HMD is that it will not only release a new handset but it will release at least three phones. Of the three phones to be initially released by HMD under the Nokia brand, two handsets will be considered as flagship phones.
The two flagship phone will have 5.5 and 5.2-inch QHD OLED displays. The new Nokia smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 820 processor and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. The new Nokia phones will also have 22.6MP graphene cameras.
The other phone to be released by Nokia will be a cheaper mid-range version of the reported flagship phones.
