Google Gboard: New Keyboard App Now Available For Android; Full Features Revealed
Charles LimSome users were perplexed when Google initially launched their brand new keyboard app, the Google Gboard, for the iOS operating system. Users had not expected that the company would launch their newly redesigned proprietary keyboard app on their competitor's operating system first.
Fortunately, the company has now released the new keyboard app for their own Android operating system, which means that Android users can now take advantage of all the features it has to offer. The brand new Gboard app has been revealed to completely replace the built-in keyboard of Android. There are, of course, a lot of reasons to upgrade, as the new app offers most of the sought-after features currently being offered by third-party keyboards.
For starters, Gboard has a built-in Google search option, which is accessible right on the keyboard interface itself. This means that when users need to find something on Google, they no longer have to switch to their browsers as they can now perform the search within the keyboard itself. Search results can also be directly shared in the conversation, removing the hassle of copying and pasting it from a browser.
Another big addition to the new keyboard is the multiple language support. The kicker is that the app allows for multiple languages to be active simultaneously, giving bilingual speakers the ability to hold flowing conversations without the need to switch to a different keyboard when typing in another language. Its auto-correct also supports more than a 100 different languages now.
Moreover, the keyboard supports search for emojis and GIFs right within the interface; although, the app's GIF feature only works for Google Messenger, Hangouts, and Allo as of the moment. Other improvements include an enhanced glyde typing experience, which has a higher accuracy rate than before. Android users can now upgrade their current keyboard app into Gboard or directly download the app from the Google Play Store for free.
