Sony Xperia XZ Gets Android 7.0 Update [VIDEO]; See The New Features!
Vinay PatelThe long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update has finally been made available for users of Sony Xperia XZ and other devices of the Japanese handset maker, which seems bent on upgrading all its gadgets into having Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
After hitting the store shelves last Sept. 2016, the Sony Xperia XZ is finally slated to receive the much-lauded Android 7.0 Nougat Android OS (operating system); it was released officially last Aug. 2016, with Google Nexus devices being the first to run this update. Aside from Sony Xperia XZ, a slew of other Sony devices scheduled to receive the new update includes Xperia X Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia X Performance, Xperia Z5, Xperia XA Ultra, Xperia XA, and the Xperia X, Gizbot reported.
Feature Updates
Users of Sony Xperia XZ will be able to work on more than one window, as well as run two apps at the same time following the Android Nougat update. And that's not all. Sony Xperia XZ users will be able to share media files such as audio clips and video files via a messaging application. In addition, the new Android 7.0 update is expected to boost battery backup and offer enhanced security features to the Sony Xperia XZ smartphone. The aforesaid features are expected to give users more control on their handsets as well.
Android 7.1.1 Release
Sony decided to roll out the new Android 7.0 Nougat update; the company is planning to ultimately release the Android 7.1.1 update to the Sony Xperia XZ among its other devices, according to a report on AndroidHeadlines. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat will allow users of Sony Xperia XZ and other Sony devices to send GIFs with their keyboards, with a power menu that will feature a restart option. Moreover, the new update can introduce some Android skin features when it is made available to Sony device users.
Meanwhile, rumors running rampant online suggest that the Sony Xperia X could be the first non-Google phone to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat; Sony are quite thrilled about it.
