Microsoft Surface Pro 5 To Feature Skylake Chipset Instead Of Kaby Lake Processor? Release Date Set On Feb. 2017?
Kirsten KaneRumors are rife that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be unveiled next year. Some reports suggested that the highly anticipated device will be launched during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 since it was not announced last October at the company's annual event.
According to MWC's website, "the world's largest gathering for the mobile industry" is set to happen from February 27 to March 2, 2017 at the Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Spain.
Though the company remains mum about the most awaited tablet device, many believed that the tech giant is already preparing for the grand launching especially that 2017 is fast approaching.
Still, it would be Microsoft's verdict as to when would it wish to release the Surface Pro 5. Fans could only hope for the device to come out sooner as they have been waiting for a long time now.
Speculations about the Surface Pro 5's features and specifications have been surrounding the net lately.
The new tablet is projected to be powered by the famous Intel's Kaby Lake processor, however, as reported by Tech Times, the launching of the "Kaby Lake processor has been delayed and it is expected to arrive in the second half of 2017, which means that Microsoft's fifth-generation tablet could come running on Skylake processor" just like its predecessor. The device might also run the latest operating system, Windows 10. Redstone 2.
Furthermore, it is rumored that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will sport a rechargeable Surface Pen which is more improved than the previous Pens. The device is likely to feature a USB-C port and pack a better battery with longer battery life.
Rumors have it that the upcoming tablet will have 256 GB of internal storage and 16 GB f RAM.
In addition, the Surface Pro 5 will sport a 13.3 inch display and may be priced around $899 to $1,599.
Microsoft has not confirmed a date for the device's release and has yet to give clear updates on the highly anticipated Surface Pro 5.
