"Tomb Raider 2" is known to be a trend-setting adventure game where games such as "Uncharted" are inspired from. For those who have missed the excellent experience it brought, a fan remake that will embrace new and old fans alike is in the making with a modern twist via modern tools.

A fanmade game titled "Tomb Raider: The Dagger of Xian" is being developed via Unreal Engine 4. This will feature extremely familiar settings, faces and a classic Lara Croft with higher quality graphical design that will surely be admired by the fans of the classic as well as new comers that at least played the "Tomb Raider" reboot on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

The video above shows the intro cinematic of "Tomb Raider: The Dagger of Xian" and while it is still in its early stages, the visual details as well as some adventuring mechanics are already showing some promise.

The developer, Nicobass, demonstrates how the "Tomb Raider 2" would look like if it were created with the latest Unreal Engine technology and we're all, but excited for it. Another video below shows some of the needed gameplay video to show how the in-game mechanics will look like in the future and it almost comes close with the more recent titles in the franchise.

Nicobass have announced way back March this year that a playable demo will be out by October, but this had been delayed since. The developer hopes to get this demo see the light of the day this coming new year or early 2017.

Fortunately, Meagan Marie, senior community manager at Crystal Dynamics for the "Tomb Raider" franchise, already gave the greenlight for the project to proceed without any problems regarding copyright. This gives the fans who are aware of this project a sigh of relief as "Tomb Raider: The Dagger Xian."
