iMac 2016 To Be Released This October? Specs, Rumors & Updates Here
Anish AsokanDespite unveiling some of the fan favorite and popular gadgets, Apple still seems to have more surprises as far as its PCs are concerned.
With the iMac lineup receiving the last update in October 2015, Apple could potentially be looking at some updates before the end of the year. With rumors on the device circulating high, the next generation iMac could see some big changes overall. But then, there are also reports that major overhauls to the iMacs are highly unlikely for the time being.
We expect Apple to go for the Intel-based CPUs. The chances for Kaby Lake chips in the new iMacs, however, are relatively slim. With AMD winning the contract for graphics chips for Apple as reported by the WCCF Tech, it is possible that for certain models the graphics cards in the iMacs could possibly be from the Polaris set of AMDs.
Compared to other available graphics chips in the market, the Polaris Graphic chips offer higher speeds and lower power consumption. This could help in bringing a higher resolution in gaming.
Another popular speculation includes a new display and possibly seeing the VR capability for the first time in iMacs. As mentioned in the MacWorld, the addition of VR capabilities to the iMacs could be a good thing for the users. With Polaris 10 and 11 capable of improving the VR experience, we can anticipate something exciting on this front.
One of the most talked about addition has been the fusion drives becoming the default storage. With many users agreeing this is one of the best features to have in the future generation of the iMacs, rumors have also re-emerged that the upcoming iMacs could have flash storage as the storage standard, allowing for better read-and-write speeds.
In any case, the new iMac could be a technological Marvel in the growing universe of Apple's mesmerizing products. Stay tuned for more updates here.
